Yeah, Ike beat him, but he beat Mayorga in the 2nd fight.. so it's even. That's called karma.

One of Merchant's funniest lines ever came from the Quartey/Forrest fight. In the post fight interview, Forrest was saying something like, " I would like to thank my trainers, my manager, my family, etc". Then Merchant said, "Would you like to thank the judges also?" Yeah, that was a clear robbery. As a matter of fact, the HBO crew was already talking about how Quartey won the fight before they announced the scores.

Thinking about it maybe he does get in the hall. He was a WW champ and a 2-time JMW champ. It's unfortunate I wasn't a fan of him while he was living but I always respected him. He was a great boxer at his best and an even greater person. RIP Viper

***** Above all, a great man, with a great heart *******

    * A great H2H fighter in his prime, id take him over most 147lbers ever.
    * Put on a brilliant display in his first fight against Mosley, and even showed his goods in his first loss against Mayorga... that was a barnburner.

    -----------------------------------------------

    - Ike was robbed against Forrest, imo
    - No way Forrest beat Mayorga in the second fight eather, i never understand these statements... he lost... deal with it, its not even considered generally as a controversial fight.
    - I think falls just short of the HOF if we are going off of resume, relivence to ones era, dominance or reigns...... the things going for him are being a 2 weight titleholder and being a h2h great at 147. I dont know its a tough call...

RIP Forrest, a great man taken too soon.... :good
