reading the Darchinyan/Guerrero pre-fight report card on the Scene of Boxing, and at the end of piece the author says that Vic is a "likely Hall of Famer." What is the consensus on ESB on this? I am big fan of Vic, but am unsure if he's HOF worthy yet. He will always have that KO loss to Donaire that he has to avenge at some point.
yeah he is one ko loss don't take that away.in fact if donaire keeps going on the same path he might not get in
He has a shot the Donaire loss was best for him because it can help him go back to the gym and see what he really needs to work on. If his career keeps progressing and he beats quality names and dominates his division....that can get him in the hall for sure.
Too early to tell. Take a guy like Donald Curry, by the time he destroyed fellow unbeaten welterweight belt holder Milton Mc Crory he seemed like the second coming of Ray Robinson. From there his fall was meteoric. No one would consider him a hall of famer at this point. Then you have Billy Conn. Lost his first pro fight to an unknown, in fact lost a few in his first years as a Pittsburg club fighter. Now considered one of the greatest lightheavys ever. A lot can happen in the course of a career. Vic has potential to be remembered forever as a great, but has more to do, and the time to do it. Wait and see.
He had a late start with his career, so that might hold him back a little, but a few more good wins and he'll get in IMO
I would say going back and getting revenge on a fighter of Donaire's caliber would be HOF worthy. Darch has defeated plenty of fighters but none of them were proven. Mijares was hyped up and duded out. Maldonado has been beaten by everyone, and Arce was a record builder if anything at this point. I think his biggest wins are against Tomas Rojas and Dmitry kirillov.
