Vocale, Lionel Rose's cousin??

    In Aboriginal world.....Yep, but not so in reality.
    Vocale always claimed he was Italian, until he aged, which clearly showed he was Aboriginal....That's when he became Lionel's cousin.

    I've known Lionel longer than Vocale, which was proved when I attended a function in his honour @ Surfers RSL soon after I moved to Gold Coast.

    Lil' fella, albeit touch overweight... LOL...grabbed me, gave me a big kiss on the cheek, lifted me & wouldn't put me down for rest of night LOL!

    Farkin amazing he remembered me some 28 years later. I must say, I was overwhelmed by it all.

    I ain't a boxing nerd. I kicked-off (involved) in 1993 as did Mr Vocale.
    Doing my best for South Australia's pro boxing as ANBF SA committee member for 6 odd years. Never intended to do anything more...nor did I attempt to.
    However, I knew numerous Melbourne boxers & trainers in late 60's/early 70's when I worked nite club Winston Charles in South Yarra. Monday night, after Festival Hall fights the joint was full of them.
    Some boxers were joint's bouncers...e.g. Leo Young Snr

    Lionel Rose's friendship eventuated thru Jonny Young, who lived next door to me. I'm sure most of you would know where Johnny Young fits in.
