Oh and I deliberately left Pride out of the list of promotions because it really wouldn't be fair to blame Fedor for that one.
SF was around when the UFC was just a thought amongst the Gracies around their kitchen table. Its going nowhere. Speculate as much as you like. There is NO EVIDENCE whatsoever that backs your absurd claim. If you want to make such loose accusations such as these then maybe you need to look closer to home and the UFC's new deal with little known station ION. Im sure you'll come up with some feeble explanation as to why ION makes more sense than Spike and why. As for Affliction folding that had NOTHING to do with Fedor. Affliction wasn't successful because as a promotion they spent more than they made. How on earth does that then become Fedor's fault? Was it Vitor's fault to? Lindlands? Arlovski's? Beuntello's? Your assertion is just hogwash and doesnt even being to make any sense.
Spike only wants so many prelim specials a year and often has shows planned for the dates that UFC PPVs take place. In such circumstances the UFC has to take the prelim special to a non-cable station as under the terms of its agreement with Spike they've maxed out the number of non-Spike cable shows they can do with the Versus deal. Personally I disagree with the prelim specials but ION is better than streaming them on UFC.com (or Sherdog as Strikeforce does). Okay let me explain this to you. Fedor was brought in to be Affliction's biggest star. They budgeted to break even with a certain level of commercial success at the box office and on pay per view. Now yes...their expectations were unrealistic but Fedor's lack of box office appeal didn't help. And again I didn't say Strikeforce was going out of business just that they don't look too healthy at the moment. And that's undoubtedly true - they've lost CBS, they still haven't been able to get onto PPV and they're clearly struggling to replace stars such as Cung Le, Shamrock and Carano.
Wamma tried to unifiy them but the UFC didn't get involved and like it or not they are the most legit as it is.
