Yeah i was the only one who picked him in the prediction thread, i wasn't impressed by that fancy kick Pettis threw and i had questions about his TD defense.

I knew Guida would grind him out. Dude has sick sub defense and a vicious ground and pound attack!

No **** he held the belt. Possibly the best 155 pounder in history. He's done though at 155 while Edgar is champ. Much bigger fights at 170. I.E. Diaz - GSP winner, Finch rematch, Koscheck, Story..

Guida seems like a hell of a nice guy, but his "all action" moniker is pure bull****. Also, his "vicious ground and pound" was basically a couple dozen shoulder strikes and literally nothing else. You'll never see a 30-27 loser who took less damage than Pettis last night.

That fight really, REALLY calls for either lay and pray yellow cards to be brought back or to allow upkicks when someone is in your guard or both. Pettis was much closer to finishing the fight with subs than Guida ever was but just because Guida took him down and was on top, he wins. I'm not claiming it was a bad decision; under the current rules he deserved to win I guess. I'm saying the rules suck and don't reflect who the better fighter actually was. At all.

I could see Guida beating Penn. Guida has a hell of a shot and great stamina and Penn doesn't do **** off his back. Pettis was MUCH more active off of his back than Penn ever is.

Guida won? I guess you call that a win? He spent a huge portion of time on top, but he was avoiding submission attempts almost the whole time.. I don't think he did anything offensive other than improve position, I mean did he even attempt a submission the whole fight did he?

Rules are pretty ****ed up. Guida was a lot closer to being submitted and losing the fight than his opponent was. I don't think it was a very good outing for him, but that's just my perception from a real fight standpoint. I just never really bought into UFC rules.
