It is not a 'robbery' when the fight could have went either way. This term is brandished way too much around here. Save that term for the likes of Whitaker vs JCC, Foreman vs Schulz etc.

I agree with kosaros,it wouldn't have been a robbery either way,as it was a close fight. Dunno how anyone got 118-110 though.

I had it 7-5 to Malignaggi.

While the fight on its own may not have been a robbery but if you add in the all the the things Malignaggi had to concede on then you get your robbery

He was being set up to lose an in all his interviews previous to the fight he mentioned this fact, so when it did happen it was no surprise, what no one expected was for it to be so blatant (118-110:blood:nut)

I think he deserved to have his rant at the end of the fight, as it needed to be said not just about this fight but in boxing in general

yes, paulie won 8-4 on my card, diaz rounds were sloppy and hard to score, paulie's were very clean and easy to score....

It was not a robbery in the sense that Paulie clearly won, because he didn't. I had him winning the fight but a draw wouldn't have made me upset.

And I hate everybody who says that you can't win a fight just jabbing and fighting on the backfoot. If that's the case every boxer with a light punch who has to rely on speed of hand and foot can hang up their gloves.

Malignaggi used his strenghts to his advantage, outpunched Diaz with his speed, showed a better defense and to me seemed to control most of the fight (ring generalship). Diaz landed more powershots, but that's not the only aspect in judging a fight.

Of course a boxer can win off the backfoot its just that esp. in the other guys backyard (which shouldn't be an issue but in reality it usually is) you have to make sure of those rounds and don't leave it close enough where the judges can make the 'easy call' and go with the harder punching agressor.

Of course, any fight that is 7-5 ish (as seems to be the consensus) could go either way

In that sense it's not a 'robbery'

But when we all know beforehand that one fighter will get the nod if it goes to the cards, THAT'S robbery IMO

    and ring generalship!

  15. I just watched it....and I really don't see how anyone could see Juan winning that fight, he was chasing shadows all night and offered nothing but wild lunges that Paulie was dodging. Paulie just couldn't miss with his left jab and was controlling all the action from 6 onwards
