I think it was a good fight, where Perez kept coming forward and Mares was landing more shots. Middle rounds Mares seemed to of have let off the gas pedal and seemed tired, Perez getting the upper hand, but Mares started strong and he ended strong too when he seemed to get his second wind. Both deserve respect, but Mares deserved to be the new champion and he fought like one.

I had Mares winning 7-5 and no it wasnt a robbery IMO.

The only reasonable scorecard I can see is a 6-6 draw or 7-5 win for Mares.

Even press row had Mares winning and even Bernstein! I can see who is winning a fight. I sure hope a rematch will happen, but I will not hold my breath!

I also scored it 7-5 for Mares and have no problem with a 6-6 score but why is a one point swing the other way(8-4 score) so hard to for some of you to understand:huh

No, it wasn't even CLOSE to being a "robbery." Modern boxing fans call ANY close fight that doesn't go the way they want it a robbery. What nonsense.

Bernstein even said that it was a close fight in which he thought the decision of the draw was fair.

My thoughts are: Yes he was robbed...in the sense that I can't see anyway to score it a win for the other guy and it seemed like he clearly won. But it was a close fight so I've seen worse.

that fight was very hard to score. perez connecting and put mares on his bicycle. mares connecting with very good solid punches but perez was consistent on his attacks and won some rounds. its a draw for me.

perez mares 2 should be made!

There's a case to have had Mares win the fight...there is NO case to have had Perez win the fight

    Robbery.

I also saw it as a close win for Mares, but before the score was called I thought it could just as easy be called a draw. And it did, so no robbery. Mares was the better fighter overall, but 6-6 in rounds, I can live with that.

scored it 115-113 for mares. there was one round in particular, round 6 i think, that i gave to mares but thought that it could have gone either way.

if mares didn't ride his bicycle in the middle rounds, that fight was his.
