Not the proudest day for boxing, eh? 2 big fights with bad decisions today... i thought that Sturm got a bad decision, but the Alexander fight was even worse. I would even use the word robbery about this one. I scored it 96-93 for Mathysse, and every single round that i scored for Mathysse was clear as day. How the **** can that judge score it 7-3 for Alexander? I mean, C'mon! Alexander wanted redemption... well, he didn't get it. Instead he got a tainted W. And while Mathysse didn't get the win that he deserved, he surely won alot of fans tonight! I didn't think too highly of him before this fight tbh... and thought Alexander would have too much skill for him, but he sure as hell didn't. At it's best.. this sport is better than any other sport. But at it's worst, it's the by far the ugliest out there. And at times there just isn't any justice (sigh).
Not only was he robbed with the decision but the whole thing was a joke. The fight was shortened to 10 rounds for DA's benefit. Ref was strict with inside fighting for DA's benefit. You're already at home where you've been training your whole life. The visitor has to take a 20 hour flight and squat in an unfamiliar place. You have the whole crowd on your side. Isn't that enough of a disadvantage? DA with two low blows. DA knocked down. DA almost out on this feet. Only time DA did any damage was for a brief spell, I think it was the 5th.
