    Simon was elite and he pushed him on 24hrs notice, and he blitzed british and euro champions. With Vargas, I wouldn't of bet big money because of Alexanders 1 punch power, although he would be the underdog !

    I would liked to have seen Alexander fight Simon with a proper camp. He wouldn't have had control of his weight with such short notice and struggled with getting it down !

    Alexander was a LMW, the Simon fight was at MW. Alexander would have had a good chance if he landed against the LMWs

    Oh right, I thought it was for Simons WBO 154 belt ???? Boxrec has Simon weighing 152 and Alexander 154 for the fight !

    You are correct.
    It was Simons fight after where he went up to MW. That was Simons last defence of the WBO LMW title.
    Simon was a very good fighter

    imagine though 24hrs to get weight down for a fighter as good as Simon, its gonna really cripple you. He was weakened you can guarantee it. Yeah Simon was a beast !

    It was a shame it was short notice. I seem to think Wayne broke both hands in that fight? Could be wrong

    9/10 times if I was a trainer i'd swerve an offer for my fighter, but with his dig it was worth the gamble. Dough comes in to it to !

    Fond memories of his wars with Paul Samuels, Takaloo and OJ Abrahams. Did well as others have said in the Harry Simon fight as well.

    I still have the Samuels fight on VHS, taped off the TV on the same night as the first Barrera-Morales fight !! LOL.

    Wayne had legit, elite level punch power.

    Wayne is quite active on social media these days, lovely fella. I remember seeing Takaloo on that Britains Hardest tv Show hosted by Phil Mitchel with the geordie voice over lol

    Yeah the hands breaking rings a bell Bailey. I thought he looked bigger than Alexander as well, like a Middleweight !
