They have approved a vacant interim welterweight title bout between Souleymane M'Baye and Antonin Decarie for April 10 in Paris.

Mosley is the WBA's Super Champion and he happens to be defending it against Mayweather May 1st, and they also have a regular Champion in Vyacheslav Senchenko.

There is absolutely no call for an interim title. Decarie is undefeated, against average opponents. M'Baye has never even had a welterweight fight.

All the governing bodies are **** nowadays.

Unification is the only way to prove yourself the best in a division.

Yep, an absolute joke. These ****ers are only worried about greenback - fleecing the sport. If there has to be hundreds of these abc jokers at least only allow them to have one 'world' title belt....

    That's debatable.

Its gottten to a stage where half the "world champions" aren't even top 10 in their division. Even if they were, one of the ******s would strip someone over a bull**** mandatory anyway.

**** unification fight, **** world titles generally.

    Linear titles only :deal

Well, lineage is sometimes debatable as well.

The only way to sort it out is one title per division, less divisons (i.e scrap straw, light fly and just make it fly, scrap super-fly and have them all in at Bantam, scrap super bantam and just have feathers, etc etc, scrap Cruiserweight....)

This will make the divisons have more depth. The best would have to fight the best.

No wonder boxing is losing fans; for your average guy its too confusing. You have less divisions/one title and they'll go 'you know the middleweight championship is being contested this weekend between the two top guys in the divison?' 'oh, yeah I'll watch that'.

    Know what I mean?

paper titles are bollox it is quality of opposition that counts today

the vacant wbo superbantam was contested last week by a 19 year old with only 14 wins and had never even fought at bantam never mind super bantam weight before

    Agreed it's a joke.

Would you agree Bernard Dunne wasn't a real world champion then?

Cant scrap cruiserweight,It's not the greatest division but there are many guys who're to big for LH and way to small for heavy.
Can you imagine boxing without Enzo Mac?:admin

Nah, with less divisions fighters would have to fight more regularly. A 205-210lb guy might well be better equipped than a monster recent european. There would be a fair amount of adapting, but smaller Heavys have prospered before.

    Cruiser=Pointless

Enzo is an average Cruiser and would be a nowhere Heavy. Which is fair,w e can't give these guys a paper title/division to figt in just because they're **** (i know youre joking)

no but he fought a top 5 guy and beat him and a guy who already had beaten cabballero

they hand world titles out these days so i would say dunnes win was just as credible as most wins for "woirld titles" these days
