WBA Title

How comes the WBA title wasn't on the line for the Mosely and Mayweather fight. On wikipedia it says 'WBA Super World welterweight title not on the line for Mayweather; only for Mosley.'

 

Mayweather didn't pay the fees, he said "belts just collect dust". I assume that the title is now vacant.

 

if i was may, i would of paid the fees, they may be meaningless, but end of the day it will shows on the records.

 

That was my understanding aswell.

 

The title was a "Super World" title so it either stays with Shane or it disappears. And yes, I know this crap doesn't make any sense.

 

Ok so Mosley technically still can beat the rest of the champs and become undisputed WW champion

 

Technically speaking,,, isn't Shane still the WBA champ if this was a non-title defense? Or will he be striped?

If the WBA decides to strip his status as Super Champ,then yea.Back to square one for Shane.Until he picks up on that fight with Berto and takes the WBC belt.

 

did they fight for the WBC diamond belt in the end, i don't remember seeing it or it being mentioned

 

god I hope not.I already have a diamond belt.I won it in a raffle.I hope they wouldn't have 5 of us running around.(my friends entered the same raffle.they had extra left over.)

the title should be vacated. hopefully the wba shows more integrity than the ibf did when they allowed judah to keep his belt

 

you can't vacate a super title unless you relinquish or move classes. That super champ crap is an honorary deal,the regular champ will keep his belt since he didn't fight at all.

 

I'd love to see Floyd sell that belt on Ebay just to demonstrate how meaningless all of these baubles really are.
