I'm surprised Takam fell so far and Perez stayed so high

Joshua #7? He progresses pretty quickly. If he beats Johnson, he could even go up to #4 or #5 perhaps.

As for the actual WBC rankings, it's pretty bad overall.

I'd really hope he wouldn't showcase Ruiz and his physique, to the public in his first defense. It would make people question the division and work ethic of the fighters in the division. But it's pretty easy to break down the legitmate guys with a chance to get the shot, unless Wilder stays inactive long enough that boxers with scheduled fights are able to complete their matches before he decides.

    :

Thompson/Solis (2/27)- Depending on how the person looks who wins(who's slower looking this time around) i could see him picking either. Both former world title challengers.

Fury (2/28 vs. Hammer)- Would be huge draw, but likely Fury will take his shot vs. Wlad. Or they drag out this twitter war for another yr. But if the money is right, why not

Stiverne- Possible rematch?? Maybe, relatively easy dispatch 1st time around, but will it sell again, after Stivernes perfomance in the ring?

Arreola- Coming off lose to Stiverne won't help. Crowd friendly style would be able to sell in Cally, or any other state with a big Latino population

Browne- I'd put him in the not happening section, because he is not known at all here in the states, but Wilder's people might see little risk of losing vs him.

Szpilka- Coming off win over faded fan favorite Adamek, would seem to be a very easy win for Wilder, and like always bring a fairly strong Polish draw

Charr- Same as Szpilka, not much of a real threat, also former title challenger.

    :

    Povetkin/Perez
(TBA? eliminator)- No way is Haymon letting Wilder face Pov in his first defense. So they'll both be off the table

Glazkov (3/14 vs. Cunningham)- Will be fighting for Mando spot vs. Klitschko.

Joshua (4/4 vs. TBA)- Only 10 fights and just starting to build buzz and big following. Doubt his team would even allow him this early in his career.

Takam- Coming off a lose, and would seem to be too much work, because of his offensive output, for a soft spot defense

Molina- No one has even heard of this guy.

    Klitschko- :rofl

Andy Ruiz Jr is too dangerous, so I doubt if Wilder would take that fight.

Wilder is going to have several easy opponents to pick from for his first defense before the mandatory gets settled.

Szpilka didn't sign with Al Haymon right before the Wilder-Stiverne fight for nothing.

    :good

Agree. He has to be the front runner.
