    the place that has news about fights just reported this! Maskaev to get the winner of Klitschko-Gomez. outrageous! :barf

    I can't remember the last time that a WBC Champion wasn't fighting a mandatory.

    What a joke - has beens like Rahman,Maskaev etc should have to fight a legitimate contender before getting another shot at a title.I would like to see Aerrola or Dimitrenko fight one of these old stiffs just so they would go away for good

    Doesn't look like they are going to let Vitali get away with the Haye fight.

    This might be Vitali's last fight.

    Hopefully, JCG vs Maskaev comes off and the winner takes on Wlad.

    Just vacate and leave the stupid title to somebody else willing to pay the fee.

    Haye vs Vitali doesn't become a smaller fight without the bauble, IMO.

    Vitali and Maskaev have tried to put together a big money fight in Moscow already. The WBC is just apparently trying to help make that happen.

    I can't see Vitali giving the WBC title up. He came back for his old title and I think the domination of he and his brother holding all the belts is too good to simply vacate.

    But, he doesn't have the time to **** about with Maskaev, so should he get passed Haye, he should consider whether he wants to fight Maskaev. Gomez is worthy in my opinion.

    That would make sense, with the winner to fight the winner of Haye - Klitschko.

    Team Maskaev probably dropped the lawsuit against the WBC in exchange for a title shot. I have a feeling we may see Maskaev vs Gomez for the vacant WBC belt.

    If this is true, the WBC loses a lot of credibility.

    Maskaev only recently lost the title, in a one-sided beating against a guy who then went on to receive an even worse one-sided beating to the current champ.

    OK - styles make fights, but please.................

    No, Gomez has already won two 'final eliminators'. That's daft in itself, making him fight a third would be ridiculous.

    Maskaev does not deserve to be a mandatory at all.
    I think they're just still bitterly upset they didn't get that big moneyspinner Moscow Vitali vs Maskaev bout, and want to keep it in the mix.

    If it makes sense the WBC is not having any of it.

    Really bright thinking from the WBC to force a legitimate champ to vacate and replace him with a paper titlist.
