Just been reading the good old Bible of Boxing; apparently the Maskaev-Peter contest was declared by the ring announcer on the night to be a WBC unification title fight, due to the fact that Maskaev was WBC champion and Peter was WBC interim champ. A fight to unify the WBC crown???????

Did anyone else hear about this?

Am I the only one who thinks this is totally ****ed-up?

It was only part one. Doesn't Vitali have some kind of WBC title too? The winner of Peter-Vitali will be the undisputed WBC champion!

The WBC has taken proliferation to another level: three champions, x mandatories... Actually, I think it's four champions, since Lewis is technically an emeritus champ.
