Kalle Sauerland, the WBSS promoter, is certain there will be plenty of interest and suggested Dillian Whyte, Daniel Dubois, Filip Hrgovic, Agit Kabayel and the winner of the Joseph Parker-Chisora fight as possible entrants...

Any combination of top 20 heavyweights would be brilliant.

There’s not a chance Whyte goes near it though.

Would love it. You have enough HWs to even have two tournaments potentially.

It has amazing potential but you can almost sense the trepidation of the big men entering. It will really show who wants it. Would it be a first WBSS with no recognised world champion entered?

After hearing Chisora’s rant about the Ali trophy at the press conference I doubt he’d be interested in this.

Maybe Andy Ruiz Junior would enter that would be phenomenal. You could even have usyk and Pulev sign up to cover his next 2 mandatories.

I doubt we will see anither WBSS never mind a Heavyweight one. You need a strong division with little money, that's why the cruisers were perfect for this.

Money will need to be huge. Like 50 million for the winner.

Heavyweight is probably the only division you could get away with no belt holders being involved.Would be better if there was at least 1 belt entering though.

Kalle did say this.. He said it would be really unlikely that they could fund it for the top level guys and most promoters wouldnt allow it.

But he did mention second tier guys could use it as a great platform. Would be a tough one for WBSS as it goes against their principles if they do not have the best of the best in the tournament as thats the selling point of the tournament.

    If they could either get it for a mandatory position or one of the vacant titles that come up post AJ vs Ruiz would be interesting. I think the best thing they could do is make it for under 26's or something to put a new spin on it. Something like;

    Dubois
    Hughie Fury
    Ajagba
    Milas
    Kabayel
    Miljas
    Franklin
    Gorman

Even a second tier fighter one would be top notch. The WBSS have cracked an almighty secret with their tournaments: well matched fighters tend to be decent and people like 'em.
