Happy for Kevin, great performance. I just hope he doesn't jump in with someone like Rios just yet. He needs another winnable but telling fight, a fight which will test him but see him come through and give him more confidence. He shouldn't be put in with the 'big boys' of the division just yet with the lay off etc.

I spoke to someone close to the Mitchell camp in Glasgow last week and he was very confident of a Mitchell win, i asked him about the postponement for a week and he told me that Kevin had been suffering from a little virus and that he went to his promoter and said that he would like an extra week to make sure he was 100% ready and so that he could repay the faith shown to him by his promoter. I also asked if he thought Kevin should have had a warm up fight and i was told that Kevin had been given the chance to have a warm up but Kevin declined saying he wanted to get right back to fighting top guys that he could motivate himself properly.
I have to say Mitchell won me over tonight, was never really a big fan beforehand. Good display, and a good fight to watch. Definitely think he needs another good win before facing Rios.
Kev done great. He was always the better boxer of the two but tonight he also should his heart and a cool head. Interested to see who he fights next.
Mitchell will go onto win a world title, I've said it since his defeat to Katsidis. This fight went almost exactly how I thought it would, next it has to be a world title fight, look forward to it!

The big question for me was whether Mitchell had prepared properly. I wasnt that sure beforehand with rumours that he was struggling to make weight and also he looked awful in some of the press pics. Luckily, the real Mitchell showed up last night - chuffed to bits for him. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson now from the Katsidis fight.
ffs kevin beat john murray if the same kevin that fought last night turned up against kats he would off still got smashed up ,its hard not to look good against john murray who lets face it is very limited slow and very predictable and was catching kevin .
