Great win by Kevin Mitchell tonight over Carl Johanneson. Mitchell started great but Carl pegged him back and rocked him but Kevin is as strong as a bull. Great finish by Mitchell. Made up for the dissapointment in the main fight for me.

    I agree.
I think Mitchel is of a similar talent to that of Alex Arthur, it will be interesting to see exactly how quickly/easily Guzman beats Arthur. Mitchell is still improving so he will do a little better than Arthur does at this level.

Was watching from a fair way back so I might be very wrong but it looked like he was behind to me. Soesn't bode well for fights on the world stage.

I havent seen the fight yet, I look forward to seeing this one tomorrow as Johanneson is a fighter I rate.

Im already impressed that Mitchell reportedly went toe-to-toe with Carl & came out on top though, but as I said I will watch the fight tomorrow & give my honest opinion. However, sounds already like Mitchell can back up his boasts.

Mitchell did go toe to toe but didn't come out on top . I had it 77-75 for Johanneson at the time of the stoppage . Mitchell winning the first 3 while boxing and moving , Johanneson winning the next 5 as they stood and traded and Mitchell going back to his boxing to stop Carl in the 9th .

Johanneson at times looked like he was going to finish Mitchell , but the Londoner held on and toughed it out and although I don't think it's a great sign that he'll do well at World level(to be honest I thought he was only domestic before this bout) he deserves huge credit and considering he is improving he will probably one day get to the level of Arthur but no further .

That was his first real test, and he is 22, if he fights guys on that level i.e Burns, Foster, some Euro contender this year, then moves up he will be ok.

Kahn didnt look at all worried watching Mitchell at close quaters. It looked like he thinks he has the Dagenham boys number. it would be a good fight. if/when mitchell steps up to lw

Fantastic fight and my man Johanneson put in one hell of a showing. Nice to see him keep his gloves up early on even though he lost the rounds he needed to just plug away and get through them.

Mid rounds great work and personally I found the non knock down hard to call but it did not matter in the end. Mitchell is real class and he will have learnt more in that fight than the previous twenty put together.

Carl is one of my favorite fighters who gives it everything he has and is usually in fantastic fights but I think we may have seen te last of him now. If he does go he will leave with a lot of honour and a good last showing. Took some good shots and also dished a few out but did not quite have enough in the tank to beat Mitchell.

I hope Kev learns from this. He was loading up early and was punching himself out. He got sloppy quick. He abandoned his defence and was fighting in big bursts. Eventually one of those load ups worked but it was risky. He's more talented than Carl and that had him ahead but that sort of **** don't cut it on the next level.

If he learns he can go a little further.

    you'll be lucky!!

Am looking forward to seeing this one again on TV, it looked cracking from where I was sitting, was the stoppage spot on? looked a bit premature from my view (which was in the gods though)
