Anyway, I recently watched the first Ali vs Frazier fight, and yes although Frazier was a warrior in that fight and won it no dout about it, I can't help but wonder what happend to Ali during his exile? Why did he lose the fight against Frazier, why was he notably slower? what happend to him, it was only three years, in comparision to Mayweathers 2 year lay off, he came back in top condition. What happend to Ali? why did he not whoop Joes ass? was he simply not good enough anymore? did he undertrain? (is that a word?), I am a big Ali fan, and although I respect Joe, I am not really a fan, but there is no real answer to what happend to Ali and why he was not able to beat Joe
3 years is a long time away from fighting. Even a Prime Ali would have struggled with Frazier. P.S. You only have to ask your question once.
Its a style thing imo. Fraizer would always have giving Ali hell imo. The first and 3rd fights prove it imo.
Ali was away for 43 months, Floyd was away for 21. Plus I think Floyd always had an eye on a comemback and stayed in reasonable shape. Ali only had a faint hope of ever boxing again and didn't keep in shape.
Ali also ate like a glutton and banged bitches and became some baloney minister / brother of the Muslim faith during his vacation from boxing, etc......... Ali had lotsa' distractions....... I am also one of the few that feel had Ali not been dropped in round 15, he could've gotten the nod over Frazier in 1971....... I have several copies of the fight and Ali really painted Joe's face with piercing jabs and slashing rights all fight long..... MR.BILL Notice how easily Ali schooled Frazier in '74........
9-6, 11-4, 8-6 So even if Frazier loses, rather than wins that round having failed to knock Ali down, he wins the fight. Maybe you mean on your own card though.

It was the knockdown that secured the deal for Frazier....... :bbb All in all, Frazier was a bigger mess physically in the end than Ali's issue with a swollen cheek and some sore ribs........ :deal Ali had the "Points" overall in terms of punches connecting over Frazier...... Yes. My card FO SHOW! I saw Frazier ducking and dodging some serious Ali leather during the classic, but Frazier was also eating more than giving back in many key rds...... Aside from rds 11 and 15, Ali was pretty much in command..... IMO!!:hat MR.BILL
I really think the TS is guilty of under rating Frazier. The version of Frazier that Ali fought the first time out was an undefeated beast. We are talking about a guy who stopped George Chuvalo in 4 freaking rounds, beat Quarry, Ellis, Foster, Bonavena X 2, Ellis, et. Joe weighed 205 1/2 that night. Under todays weigh in rules Frazier could fight at 200 pounds. It's frightening to try and imagine what he would do to guys like Adamek, Cunningham, Haye, et.
