What if for Calzaghe?

Calzaghe is not in the class of most of these fighters. He would do well to win 50% of his fights against these eight fighters.

 

Alot of people forget Calzaghe is past his best now. The fact hes still at a high level at 36 shows how good he was.

I think he beats most of those guys with the possible exception of Jones.

 

I would have loved to have seen Joe add Ottke (just to unify early), Roy Jones, Hopkins, Tarver, Taylor, Johnson, Dawson, Wright (yes Winky), and Pavlik to his resume.

I very much doubt that he could have got Toney down from Cruiser to fight at LH.

With those names, and if he could have beaten them (possible); that would be one real weighty resume. :scaredas:

 

He'd beat them all except Jones.

 

Pretty much every fighter between 160-175 would struggle with the B-Hop of today.

 

Calzaghe at his best, could beat, or atleast be on a par with any of them

 

We already know how this fight goes.

Hopkins ducks it and waits for the next passing welterweight.....

 

He beats Johnson, and McCallum(Mike wasnt that good above 160). Possibly beats G-man.

He losses to prime versions of Roy, Hopkins, Toney, and Nunn.

 

Theres no way in holy hell Joe beats a prime Jones. I dont even think Joe himself thinks he could beat a young Roy. He's only fighting Roy now cuz Jones has two feet in the grave.

And Roy too is guity himself, of not fighting Joe earlier due to location,,,,
AND at about 37, Joe, with hand injuries, is older, and quite limited himself...Your excuses won't hold water, unless Roy beats him,...then and ONLY then will I consider your remarks:hi:

 

He's not in the same class as a prime Jones/Hopkins/Toney but he'd be competitive with the others, particularity Tarver and Johnson.

 

Calzaghe was 36 at the time. Why do people forget Calzaghe's age?

 

I think Calzaghe would beat Hopkins at any time in his career. Calzaghe is too fast and too volume of punches for Hopkins. Calzaghe is among the best at getting in and getting out. Calzaghe is also not bad at fighting in the inside, he can do it all. But, Roy and Toney would beat Calzaghe.
