What do you consider ring IQ to be? Is it just another word for ring generalship? Is it knowing what to do, and when to do it? Is it how well a fighter can adjust?

Yes, it's knowing what to do and when to do it.

It's knowing what to do, when to do it and how to do it. It's knowing what your opponent's strengths and weaknesses are. It's knowing exactly what your opponent will reply with after you throw a specific punch/combination. It's self-explanatory, I'd guess.

Mayweather check hooking Hatton into the turnbuckle is a good example.

Being able to adjust your game plan in order to offset that of your opponent.

Hopkins v Pavlik - footwork keeping pavlik off balance, setting traps for lead right hands
JMM V Juan Diaz - taking diazs left hook away from him and closing distance and bringing the uppercut into play
Calzage v Kessler - changed his attacks increased the jab and reduced and made himself harder to it

its about having a plan see Hopkins and being able to adjust in the ring Cal and Jmm. Khan is often crisiced because when hes hurt instead of looking after himself he tries to brawl and gets sparked see Khan Garcia

its about fighting smart and looking after yourself in the ring

What to do, when to do it. Complete awareness, the ability to set and avoid traps, always a step ahead. After watching Cunningham vs Tarver, it was clear who had a higher ring IQ.

That's more bad ring mentality rather than iq

Guess you can lump it all together

Reading the situation and opponent, and making critical decisions thereupon.
