Honestly he should take Canelo money and then retire.

I'd usually say retire but if he can earn 8 figures vs Canelo it's worth it, it's not an unwinnable fight either.

Knockout Canelo at 175 (Shouldn’t drop to 168) and then maybe a farewell fight. He’s not the guy he used to be but still capable Of flatlining Oscars golden child.

he'd make more vs Canelo than he'd make in 2 maybe 3 fights with the top 10 at 175. Take the canelo fight for sure

kovalev should take the canelo fight and call it a career. he loses to beterbiev and gvosdyk. his power is not what it once was and his body and stamina have turned into glass.

As mentioned, take the Canelo fight then call it a day.

He doesn’t need to go anywhere near the Gvodzyk/Beterbiev winner.

Yeah he’s kinda in the same predicament as Adonis Stevenson was after the Jack fight.. Don’t have the stamina to last against a legit threat for 12 rds (such as the other 175 champs).. I’m afraid one of those guys would put him thru a similar fate also

Something tells me the Canelo fight won’t happen. He should take the winner of Gvodzyk-Beterbiev, I think he beats either of them.

For me if he doesn't retire which I would recommend, then fight Canelo take the life changing money and defiantly then retire. I am the same age as Kov and I know the reflexes are not the same as they were when we were twenty one.the sheer relief on his face and his mother at the end there summed up where he is now.

He used his nous and experience to win that tonight, He had a great Jab all night with good combinations, but was gassing from the mid rounds and Yarde was so close to having in him out of there in round 8 after stepping inside and throwing body shots, one more right hook and he'd of been dropped and I doubt he would be recovered.

But massive credit to him, he gulped up air showed heart and responded to the wise words of future Hall of fame Buddy Mcgirt at the end of round 8 . From round 9 to 11 he jabbed and moved and busted up the inexperienced Yarde and got the stoppage.

But father time calls on everyone in this dangerous sport, and its over his shoulder now looming like the sunset, so take the money and enjoy retirement kov.

Good point. I'd hate for Kov to end up in ill health.

Agreed I was a huge Stevenson fan early on but Kovalev fought everybody 175 from his era and was afraid of no one.. Guys like him deserve big money fights and all the acclaim while they are still in good condition..

    Same as.

I hate Stevenson, though. Milked the belt, avoided Kov like the plague, and has a horrible past.

Kov deserves the Canelo money, then retire.
