Seems a bit like Tony Jefferies. He just does not have the desire to succeed in the pro game. I always thought was chinny but he had the ability and backing to pick up a trinket. Now it seems he will not do that.
The desire is definitely there - he's struggled badly with Achilles injuries which he'd previously been training and fighting through, until it reached the point that serious surgery was nothing but an option. He was told he'd be out for a year after surgery, but is expected to return within the 6 months. I hope when he returns he's 100% and fully crack on with his career.
seems like a good guy from interviews not been overly impressed with him in fights. Furey has the injury been a long term one ie would this have been in effect in his last few fights? Achillies would defo affect movement and balance obv and power (something i think he lacks for his style).
Its' been affecting him since his amateur days and has worsened. He's said before it got to the point at times he wished they would just snap to release the pressure - how bad is that! Yeah it would definitely affect your movement, balance and certainly the amount of pop your putting in your shots.
He's already done loads of TV appearances and celebrity rubbish, I don't even watch hardly TV but I've seen him on a couple of times. He's probably working his way through the female TV presenters, some his age, but most likely of the MILF variety. Honestly, these boxers that look like models aint worth putting much hope in. More often than not they fall by the wayside. But there's more to life than getting hit in the face for a living.
