Whats next for Groves?

2 defences of his British, maybe 3 fighting a variety of styles, rematch with Kenny for a vacant Euro title, then wba regular belt.

 

Win Lonsdale outright first, then a Euro shot and go from there. He aint nowhere near ready for World level.

 

Surely he'll vacate the British title after losing a tight decision Degale remains highly ranked he'll be mandatory after one fight, don't you think?

I don't think Groves should take a rematch anytime soon. Why risk all this momentum. It'll happen at some point down the line I expect.

I think Groves must start looking for the European title soon.

 

Brian Magee could be a good fight after 1-2 more fights for groves

 

DeGale will have to fight an eliminator in order to be given mandatory status.

Going by his down time between fights and Allegedly wanting him on the July bill I'd be surprised if an eliminator took place before October at least.

Groves will be out for a short time with those cuts, but can be back in the ring toward the end of summer.... maybe his next fight will be on a GBP undercard?

I'd like him to take Anderson again, but Jeffries wouldn't be a bad idea if Maloney would let it happen.

Does anyone else think Groves will run into a loss in his next 5 fights while Degale could sail on? I have the suspicion that Groves is more inclined to lose and in a lot more telling fashion sooner rather than later.

 

Yeah in the same way everyone thought he would be outclassed and beat by Degale.

 

This could well happen. I can see DeGale having a few confidence builders, just to get him back to where he was before the Groves fight.

Groves, I suspect, may well be matched a bit more ambitiously.

 

If Maloney & Jeffires are serious Groves and his team will take that. Its easy money. A 10 rounder in the US before Anderson in a rematch for the Lonsdale outright in December.

Then move for the European title.

 

On the UK shores, Anderson, Jefferies and Magee Wins the British Belt outright, then who ever has the EBU belt and then world honours (could be Froch)

 

I vote for a best of 99 series with Degale.

 

Saturday night will probably be the highlight and peak achievement of his career.

 

I just don't get comments like this. Massively loaded post with negative connotations.

He won, he was the underdog, he won in/with a style very few thought he was capable of against a quality opponent.

He is 23 and very shortly will be the only fighter in his stable.

How can a British/Commonwealth unification be the highlight of such an obviously talented, gutsy, young fighter? One with a superb team around him. One who has already headlined, and performed on PPV in front of thousands.

He will have many more big nights I suspect
