Despite rooting for Donaire, i am also a big fan of Montiel. I like the way he sets up his punches and his killer instinct, and actually felt bad after he got Koed by the Filipino Flash. I still believe Montiel can still get the belts once Donaire moves up(and hopefully cleans up the BW division). It's not the end of the road for him. Who do you think should he fight next?
Well its time for Cochulito to redeem himself... He had his big shot to Break into a super star, but after this back to the trenches and beat some good opposition before he gets another shot at stardom. I see one final fight at 118 or a move up to 122 to face a champion there, and maybe a donaire rematch at 122 like themselves have said they would want.
I think Montiel will move up to 122 and fight the winner of Arce vs Vasquez Jr for his 4th divisional title. The only thing that I hope and pray is that against Donaire he did not get a serious concussion that will have long lasting effects.
If Arce beats Vasquez Jr. then Arce/Montiel is the fight to be made. Right now though I would like to see Darchinyan vs. Montiel
I got different scenario Donaire fights the winner of mares-agbeko Montiel fights the loser or Montiel fights the winner of darchinyan-perez either fight would be good for me
I don't see Montiel going for a lower type of fighter, I think he will take on the best... He is not facing the loser of anything... He is going after good competition, but I have high hopes.. we shall see.
