He managed to break into the Top 15; I think he could be a solid test for most fighters ahead of bigger fights...
He's a good, underrated strong fighter I'd like to see him vs Gassiev for the WBA title. Or Kabayel for the WBC. Or against someone like Yoka, Xhoxhaj, Riakporhe.
He could become the 2016 Olympic medal hunter. Yoka next before calling Hrgovic out for the real showdown. All jokes aside I think Yoka would be a good fight for him next. I'd like to see Gassiev fight a real challenger next.
Solid fighter. - He isn't the hardest puncher, but gets stoppage wins from an accumulation of good accurate punches. - Doesn't have good lateral movement, but otherwise has decent boxing skills. - Strong chin. - Lot's of heart and determination. - Aggressive, his fights are always entertaining. - Small at 6'1" for a 21st century heavyweight. - Deeply religious man, he does his ring walks with Christian hymns. - Good family man
I expect Gassiev to sell his belt to Itauma next. I agree, Suslenkov vs any fringe contender would be cool.
A fight with Jalolov would be a great battle in the East. I think Jalolov would win, but it would be a good test for both fighters.
Suslenkov is TERRIBLE. He is slow, hittable, and has only modest power for a Heavyweight. He looks worse than any decent amateur. More like a slightly skilled toughman competitor. His victory on Saturday is 100% an indictment on what Joe Joyce has left... which is clearly: NOTHING. Joe Joyce should never be cleared to return to the ring again.
He should've had the Gassiev fight. He was at least game and showed up to fight. Maybe he can try fighting a fringe contender?
