I think Chambers outboxes Liakhovich (while beating the crap out of him) and makes him look silly

Briggs didn't land a lucky punch, Liahkovich was just standing there with his hands down and didn't move when Briggs came halfway across the ring with those bombs.

I can't say I feel sorry for him, he had the motivation to win a title but once he got there he stopped training and listening to his trainer. His fight against Valuev was just awful, he just stood there and got thoroughly beaten and refused to move or avoid punches. Ivaylo Gotsev can't seem to get a fight for him, for good reason. He's done and were better off without him now.

It was lucky cause Lyakovich didn't know what he was doing in there... he looked completely lost.

Maybe the punch itself wasn't lucky, but the whole Briggs KOing Lyakovich scenario was.

Before the Briggs fight he had some major physical probs, I can't remember what it was (torn shoulder, bad back) something where he couldn't train right and it showed, he looked weak and flabby. He might have had persistant problems with his health and couldn't train right and decided to hang it in. Seems to be a major downfalll of alot of the euro's (Vitali, Maskeav, Sanders(yea i know he's S african)

Sergei's win over Lamon Brewster was a pyrrhic victory. He took a lot of hard shots in that fight against one of the divisions hardest punchers and the Briggs knockout that followed certainly didn't help matters. If Sergei is retired it's probably the best thing for him.

Brewster-Liakhovich is still the best heavyweight title fight of the past 6 years.

Ivaylo cant get him a proper signed fight, he hasn't retired and has been training again in Az. His muted fight with Toney just failed to materialise and its just a matter of getting a good match for him.. In fact Friday cant get work and i hate seeing two decent quality fighters who are still capable sidelined because of matchmaking issues..

Sergei gave Friday his first loss and Iyvalo even got us a fight v Povetkin in Mannheim Germany.. Maybe Liachovich v Ahunanya 2....... Lol.. he hasn't actually retired.

Thanks for the info. Bigcat, great stuff as always. Thanks for bringing up Friday, as I was wondering about him the other day. Hope to see him back in the ring again soon.
