I was wondering if any ESB members have heard what Sultan Ibragimov is doing? Is he getting a new trainer? Who is his next opponent? I feel he is one of the best and most underrated fighters of the past ten years.

Also, who is his toughest fight, besides Wlad?

I actually think Iggy's toughest fights would obviously be against the biggest men in the division, but aside from those guys, I could see Chris Aerreola or Fast Eddie Chambers giving Sultan tough outings.

It's hard to find any information on Iggy because he's such a private guy. I hope it's just a temporary hiatus.:huh

I hope he has a Rocky III moment and goes back to where he started - i.e. the agressive, croud pleasing style with which he had appealing fights against Whitaker, Ahunanya, etc. That style, even if he probably got KO'd himself, would've given him a better shot against Wlad too... and at least he would've ended up with some marketability, unlike now.

A fight against Haye could be interesting.

Hopefully at home being forced to watch his last few stinkfests.. err.. fights.

How does this guy still have fans, have you watched him fight in the last couple years?

Do you mean when he won the WBO heavyweight title?

He just stepped up in quality of opposition and had to make adjustments. It's the sign of an intelligent fighter.

I say good riddance. Before Wlad, his biggest fights were against has-beens, Whittaker, Briggs and Holyfield. He apparently is never in top shape, and didn't even try to win against Wlad, just surviving. There are enough soft, unmotivated heavyweights around. If Iggy never comes back thats fine with me.

Briggs was the champion and had knocked out Liakhovic, who at that time was seen as the #2 guy. It was a good win.

As I posted recently, according to his last interview he is enjoying his prolonged vacation and will not be back in the ring until 09.
