It’s superb matchmaking. Ambitious,but a name on the wane whose best days were at lower weights. But Rios is a formidable proposition anyway,he isn’t going down to anyone without a fight and he is a very skilled fighter on the inside.Kelly would learn heaps.
Peoples expectations with matchmaking today are ridiculous. This is just one example but we see it every day on forums.
Rios would be brilliant matchmaking for Kelly interms of name recognition - not so good for Rios health though, he’s beyond shot.
Also Rio's would be a quality fight for Kelly. Rio's is miles past his best but tbf he's still only lost to Pacquiao, Garcia, Bradley, Alvorado and Abril (yes). He's not at the point where he should be expected to be rolled over by prospects. Good matchmaking, fringe level fights with names but without the risk off fighting them at their best. No complaints from me but if they do then they do and he wins then they put themselves in corner where people will be expecting him to step up from there. Can't sell the likes of Molina and Rio's to people then throw him into a keep busy ten rounder with a no name.
