Which fighter was a longtime sparmate for one heavyweight Champ , knocked him down in sparring ,and, had a victory over another, one time heavyweight champ.
    ????????
nb Both Champs were undisputed titlists.

I think I am right in saying the titlists Page was involved with, were not both undisputed,to be honest I suddenly thought of Page when I had put it up ,but no, someone further back in time .

Jimmy Ellis was a sparring partner of Ali and beat Floyd Patterson.

I thought he scored it 9-6 to Ellis.
What about Leotis Martin, was he ever a sparring partner of Ali's?

I must be losing it, of course Ellis got the decision against Patterson, along with a broken nose,he never knocked him down though.
Dont think Martin was a spar mate of Ali's though he was of Liston.
BTW Martin was in the US team that the Brits beat 10 -0 NOV 2nd 1961 ,he was stopped in the final rd by Scots John Fisher, with a body shot.Dick McTaggart, and Frankie Taylor were in the UK squad along with Billy Walker, and a young man from Scouseland called Alan Rudkin, who, though down in the 1st went on to stop his man in the final rd, but you knew that ,didn't you.

I didn't know bout the first round knockdown, have you seen the whole fight?
I was at a tribute do for my dad a few years ago and they got the whole team together. Only one missing was Billy Walker who was inbad health at the time.
Here's the last round of that fight. Me dad only looks like a boy. You don't see many amateur fights like this nowadays

Walcott was the sparring partner of Joe Louis.

I cant think of other guy that was heavyweight champ, that fight other heavyweight champ, and knock out other heavyweight champ.

Perhaps Jeffires with Corbett, he did beat Fitz.
