Does anybody know what became of the legendary publisher of the 1970s and early 1980s?

Flash's weekly newsletter was required reading - he was a major force in boxing media - and then he vanished.

If he passed away, I'm sorry, i hadn't heard.

I hear he's alive, but is out of the game.

    Wonder what happened?

If he decides to re-emerge in boxing media, he'll be a sensation. It would be like Red Smith or Damon Runyon coming back from the grave.

I'm not so sure about that. Flash's stuff was a back stage pass in boxing on many levels. His relationships with the fight game gave him rare insight.

I tend to to doubt Gordon has the same key connections in 2008 to duplicate or even come close to the stuff he put out a few decades ago.

    but why did he vanish?

that's the mystery. i seem to recall hearing that he was threatened, and had to vanish to maintain his health.

The guy who'd know is Johhny Bos. He was the hub of that whole unkempt crew that was at every NY fight show.

Flash seemed to be second-in-command and was like a hyper-active Woody Allen, always tryin' to get control of papers that were flying all over the arena.

Flah was a super knowlegable guy, he was at every fight @ the garden as well as the felt forum and would even take rthe train to Philly...Flash could be seen before each fight were most of the guys huddled..Freddie Brown, Russel Peltz, and a lot of the trainer, fight folk...Flash would bring his binoculars and sat in the bleachers at times but knew who was at the fights in the ring and outside...he read everything he could on boxing and filled a gap at the time with his news letter...Johnny Bos was more outgoing and they did not look like they belonged together but they were partners for a bit.....
