For '4' straight years, early in my career I was rated as one of the
Top 5 fighters in this division.

I dropped out of the rankings in that division for 'one' year, so I decided to go down one weight division,
where I was rated in the Top 10 of that lower disvison for '6' years.

    Who Am I?

    Hint #2 later.

...i'm guessing joey maxim...rated as a heavy and then down to light heavy, where he became champion....though i don't think he was rated in that division for 6 years. still...i figure it's worth a shot...

Willie Pastrano, on the other hand, fits the bill.
In Hw top 5 1955-58 and Lhw top 10 1960-65 incl. of course being champ 63-65.
One of the few examples of a fighter moving down in weight and being more successful,
    Maxim being another.
There must have been others but for the moment I can't recall any.
Btw when Pastrano turned pro he was only a featherweight, so he had to gain 50 lbs to become champ. Might that be some sort of a record?

I would go with Willie Pastrano as "bum of the week" stated.

Jake LaMotta started his pro career as a lightheavy ,and dieted himself down
to a great middleweight career. Jake was a middleweight in a lightheavyweights body...
