Gerald mccellan, rocky graziano and carlos monzon, If i had to pick one it would be gerald that guy use to knock heavyweights out in the gym

 

Jake was an equal opportunist and if you had the money, you could of flattened LaMotta in a round.

 

Stanley Ketchel perhaps.

 

I'd fell comfortable picking jake to beat both fullmer and jackson, fullmer was a good fighter but jake was a little bit better at everything gene was good at IMO, slightly better on the inside, more stamina better chin (though i don't see that being any factor in the fight). He also had a better defence i fell, very underrated as people focus soley on lamotta chin but he was very adapt at slipping punches. Jackson he would wear down and TKO late i think.

Leonard i give a good chance of beating la motta, he wouldn't engage jake to much(which was the reason IMO robinson found him so hard, he could have outboxed la motta easier but liked to fight and go for the KO, Lamotta states this himself in raging bull) and if he kept up the lateral movement and used his flashy combos i could see him taking a tight decision, whether the leonard we seen at middle would be able to keep on the move ove say 15 rounds consistantly like this i'm not sure though, i could also see jake beginning to wear him down after giving away the early rounds and finish hard. Really hard fight to call IMO.

Lamotta is perhaps one of the guys i really underrated until recently, now there are very few middles i fell confident picking over him

 

I'd pick a few to outpoint LaMotta (it's not like he was unbeatable) but it's tough to see anyone "flattening" him.

 

That true fullmer could certainly bang, harder than jake could, but not hard enough to even stun lamotta in my opinion never mind stop him, i can't see anyone stopping a prime lamotta at 160, robinson managed it when jake was past his best and weight drained but he couldn't do it in the other 5 fights when jake was prime.

Of course ray was only weighing in as a welter in those fights but i don't think the 50-52 version of robinson would have stopped prime jake anyway and i view that ray as perhaps the most potent attacking force at middle, not the hardest puncher but the most well rounded composite puncher .

If you want to beat La Motta i think you need to look to outbox him, if your going to take it to the trenches you better hope your someone like a dick tiger or hagler or i wouldn't like your chances

 

But what did Leonard at MW achieve and show us. He went 12 round with Hagler who was on the decline albeit he beat Hagler but he didnt show traits that Ray Robinson had.

I think Dick Tiger would have a chance as he was strong in the inside and could bully LaMotta back and sting him.

 

Jake, in all reality, fought as a Light Heavyweight for the majority of his career, even though today he would be considered a Super Middleweight. That being said, if we go into his time and specifications, he would have fought guys like Foster, Moore, Conn, Charles, and several other fighters who lingered in and out of Middleweight to Heavyweight.

But, if we're strictly talking Middleweights here, who seldom went passed 160 in any significant bouts, I think of the swarmers/brawlers, a guy like Rocky Graziano would have given him trouble in the early going.
