They should've made him fight Virchis or McCall for the interim HW championship.

So did everyone else in the division. Ruiz, Rahman got robbed, only a shot Holyfield lost to him.

Toney tested positive for a banned substance after the fight, so it's safe to say that he cheated

You are technically correct, but I think the poster's original point is that Toney's achievements at heavyweight are vastly overrated: thus, a win over Toney, at this point in his career, does not mean much. The fact that he had to take steroids to beat Ruiz confirms this. In fact, Toney is probably the only fighter that felt the need to take steroids to face The Quiet Man.

His accomplishments at heavyweight were overrated - Holyfield, Guinn, Booker. And a NC vs. Ruiz and a sloppy draw with Rahman that I feel he should have lost.

BTW-though I do not think Peter should have been awarded the interim title without a fight, and he is, in effect, now a paper champion. Such action is consistent with the WBC's recent history. But, at the same time, I don't see why the WBC could not have just waited until Peter fought McCline, and declared the winner of that fight Interim Champion (are they at all concerned with at least having the appearance of legitimacy?). I think it's hilarious that, having just been awarded his paper championship, Peter now refers to himself as The Heavyweigh Champion of the World....what a schmuck.

    I agree.

I laughed out loud when Peter called himself the HC of the world. Even the WBC are not calling him THE champion, but merely the interim champion. Maybe Peter needs to informed that Interim champion is not champion. Not yet, anyway.......He's jumping the gun.

Beating Toney apparently carries alot of weight with Peter.........LOL.

They really screwed up by not having Peter fight Mccall, then deem THAT winner the WBC Interim champion,.............

    Rediculous.

So Peter's interim championship reign won't be long.........about three weeks, or so.............
