Hello Everyone. I was recently watching Munyai on the TV and was impressed with his 3 wins on British soil. Occasionally we get these imports who wipe through our domestic talent and Jackson Asiku is another name that comes to mind.

A few years ago an import i think of Argentinian origin beat Richard Williams and i think Adrian Stone. Was he called Martinez or Martez or forget. Anyone remember him?

i like munyai...but as with a lot of african boxers his career seems to have stalled a bit and he hasn't had the chance to fight against anyone better than power.

looking at boxrec he's been lined up to fight a ? in South Africa for the WBA intercontinental so hopefully this will push him up the rankings.

Is he? nice one, his career seemed to stagnate after the wins over UK oppostion, didnt he fight in Spain a lot? I seem to remember him being highly ranked by the WBA, although I didnt know he was in line for a shot.

Remember karmazin coming to the UK to fight David Walker, he absolutley mullered him. Shame "Made in hell" got spanked the other week, I liked him. Still do I suppose, but unless he avenges that defeat he'll probably fade away.

I read it somewhere that someone was considering him for a defence.... Not heard much since. He got well beaten by Margarito on the De La Hoya- Whitiker undercard that was the first time I saw him since then I think he's been unbeaten but can't be arsed box reccing lol..

Thanks for the replies, Sergio Martinez was certainly the man in question and it is interesting to sometimes think back at the overseas mfighters that came to Britain and wiped off one, two or even three of our domesic talents. Djelti also springs to mind as the European champion at the rope old age of 44!

Sam Malinga was a good call.

Munyai is a brilliant fighter, his height compared to his weight is shocking, he's a freak of nature. If he got more exposure, and bigger fights, I feel he could become WC.

Yes Munyai could become a special talent and has had some impressive wins thus far. Any other fighters in this category worth mentioning?
