I love Joe Frazier. When i'm matching him up H2H, heart, courage and will are incredibly significant factors, more so than anyone else i think.

I'm not demonizing Ali, i think he was a great person to. The point im about to make is not the sob story full of pity for Joe Frazier. I think he was overwhelmed mentally and vocally by Ali. Ali as an idividual was one of the greatest personalities of all time and is celebrated as such even today. And what Joe Frazier represents, in my opinion, is a reality check. A little man sticking it to THE man. Even after being ruined by Foreman, in their 3rd bout, his passion to overcome and be a more than worthy nemesis of the larger than life character and boxing deity, Ali, was re-ignited. This makes him a very heroic character in my book and is one of those fighters that stirs up alot of emotions when i'm watching his fights, hearing his story etc..

Joe Frazier had an exciting, dominating style and reign. He was the equal of the greatest. Overshadowed as a champion on a public level and i believe, sometimes(not by everyone) underrated H2H today because of the destruction he suffered at the hands of a peak Foreman, the only other man to beat him being Ali.

Probably been a little too dramatic here, but anyway the reason i've written this is because i wanted to share this absolutely awesome tribute video with you all, its the best i've ever seen of a single fighter...

As I'm always saying,I'm an out and out Muhammad Ali fan,but I still had a lot of respect for Joe Frazier. Apart from when he was fighting Ali,I'd always root for Joe whenever he fought. Two great fighters.

Cosell was demonized and criticized for a great many things. But he was very outspoken in his advocacy for Frazier, and always cited Joe as being among the pantheon of the very greatest champions.

To me, 1969-1971 Smoke is a top five heavyweight.

A great fighter for sure, and one who I think deserves to be mentioned in every conversation involving the very best of heavy weights.

Without a doubt. I'd rate him no lower than number 5 on my all time heavyweight list.

Yes, very good. Some real great moments captured properly in there. Maybe this one is better though?

Not to knock it though, I can't remember the last time I watched a highlights package all the way through to the end, they bore me these days. That was awesome.

Yes, for those two years I think he executed that style better than anyone since Armstrong. When you consider that he was a 200lb man, that is genuinely astonishing. IMO, nobody that couldn't KO him could beat him between his lifting the title and the FOTC.

Thats a fair rating. I myself, place him somewhere around #7, but that can change on any given day.

I'd only place Ali,Louis,Holmes and Foreman (in that order) above him. Numbers 3 - 5 are changeable though.
