Of all the HWs past and present, who would have the best shot at knocking out Valuev?

No, M,Tyson punched harder as did several other former heavyweight champs, Haye had Valuev in bad trouble at one point.

I don't rate Wilder as a really top level boxer... But Valuev is almost tailor made for him to land on, multiple times if necessary (which it probably would be) - it wouldn't be a KO in one, but if he lasted long enough to land a few it would begin to tell.

It's far from a cert, but if anyone was going to topple him that's probably the most likely bet.

I think someone smaller could KO him with body shots. LIke Chisora or Whyte

I would say Wilder, Joshua, Vitali (pre injury), Wladimir, Foreman all have a good shot a KO’ing him.

If I had to pick from one above going on my Gut, I think I would pick Vitali. Has pre injury KO rate was insane, I think he would wear him down and KO him in the middle rounds.

I thinking someone with fast, explosive power. Punches you don't see coming.
Heavy handed guys someone like Vitali he will just see coming and he's such a big guy he would be able to see it coming. Similar to what happend with Chisora. Vitali couldn't stop him, Haye put his head into orbit.

Wilder has to be in with a shout..
Tyson of the 80s with his body attack speed and angles should be able to get it down although he would be at risk of being smothered but that ultra aggressive bob and weave would probably allow him room to punch
RJJ that fought Ruiz would have a crazy speed advantage he might be able to do something.

Vitali then was 40 and already long ago had back and shoulder problems.
He was almost 1 handed in this fight and looks that prefered to score on him points, more with 1 hand.
Vitali maybe also had some old injuries again popped up before fight. Vitali was like this: if tickets already are sold out, he will not pull out from fight. He always attempted to deliver.;)
He was also boxer like : never boring to watch.

I'd tend to agree, but quite seriously ... I think Wilder has had hand injuries and he could well break his hand hitting Valuev's head.

Lennox, Foreman, Wilder. Joshua, Briggs all have the lightning and length (no homo) to potentially stop Valuev.

Someone said Tyson, and the dimensions IMO just don't add up. No way could he stop a man a foot and two inches taller than him.

Wilder's punching is meant to stop people shorter than him. He would need more changes than he is easily able to make.

I think based on Haye you might want someone who is used to punching up or at least has a more complete punch repetoire.
