Why Boxing is crumbling!

I am sick and digusted with this sport, I had some real thoughst of coming back and promoting myself as an Heavyweight, but now I KNOW that I made the right decision by going and getting my psychology degree.

I have a HW that I am trying to move 34, former amateur Golden Gloves Champ from Florida, and no one wants to fight him, I have called every match maker and put him available for every upcoming fights available.

These promoters want Rocky Balboa Dreamers, and couch potato's I mean my fighter is skilled and hasn't fought in 8 yrs but we have been training hard, and just left Las Vegas sparring De La Hoya heavyweight and they sent us packing after two days thanks Oscar my man was kicking his heavyweight ass all over the ring.

And he is only 220, I think promoters need to let their fighters fight or any of you promoters want to fight email me WE READY !!!!

With a screen name like that and that kind of email you are predistened to failure.

so your little thing is the death of boxing, get a life and get out of the sport.

 

No matter how far other sports popularity soars, boxing will never degenerate so far as to be irrelevant.

Ignore the haters, you come off sounding kind of arrogant in your post, but I would say don't quit. There are other HW's in the same situation as you, you gotta find them thats all.

The heavyweight division is hard to peg, but the other divisions have been slowly putting more compelling fights together over the last few years. I don't know how the PPV buys or HBO subscriptions are going, but in general I think that the fights are healthier.

I don't know the story of your heavyweight, but you should take whatever you can get in your local market. Look at what Joe Mesi was able to do with his limited talent. Build a local following and accept that you may have to pad his record until other people take notice. If you're dedicated you can do this. Don't blame the sport - work to improve it. If you can put your fighter in a position of power then help to improve the sport by making the logical fights.

Edit: Go into the lounge and look for Stacy. They have this silly thing trailer park championship going. It might sound stupid, but it has the attention of a lot of people. Take what recognition you can and run with it.

 

Call me an 'optimist' but right now boxing is as exciting as it has been in years.

 

So wait a second, let me get this straight. You think boxing is "crumbling" because nobody will give your fighter - an amateur making his pro debut at age 34 - a fight????:huh

Isn't that a bit of an exageration????:hey

 

The heavyweight division doesn't represent boxing, of course it's one of the most exciting divisions but still doesn't represent boxing. There are a lot of good fights to make in the lower weights and the heavyweight division isn't THAT bad with guys like Wladimir/Peter/Vitali/Povetkin/Chagaev/Valuev/Dimitrenko/Ruiz/Haye in the mix.
