I see alot of talk about marg being drained. When he fought mosley he weighed 145 3/4 which is also the same as he weighed for Paul Williams. He is a career 147 fighter and has only fought over that weight a few times in his whole career. he made 154 after a long layoff. I dont think being 151 will be a negative for him at all.
I havnt seen anything anywhere about him being or looking drained. Not saying your lying or anything, but im suprised this is coming out. What have you heard? Is this from him or anybody in his team or just from us boxing fans?
The problem is with PAC haters who bash him for demanding these catch weights. Somehow its funny that Margarito (a 147 lbder) is fighting PAC (143 carrer height) for a 154lb WBC belt at 151 catch weight. I think the next step will be PAC-Marquez III fighting for a vacant 160lb belt at 155lb catch weight and people (mostly Floyd fans) will be bashing PAC again.
He better not be drained. It's not like he has a slew of fights at 154. 151 should be no problem for him.
No one is calling margo drained. What people are saying is that this is a cheap attempt by pac to win a belt at JMW at a catchweight of 151, especially against an undeserving foe such as margarito who last fight was against a cab driver and the one before that saw him get knocked the **** out by a 37 year old mosley.
See if you can find ESPNs FNFs the following friday after the fight, they spoke about Margarito not taking this fight seriously and comming into camp at 180 plus with five weeks to make the weight.....
Why isn't he taking it seriously? Does he think he can whoop pac? Or has he been given orders by arum to lay down like clottey and get ****ed?
I am talking about the mosley fight... this fight he is taking serious if your talking about now I dont buy that he is drained... he shouldnt be the fight is two months away.
Ok i'm with you now. Maybe he did underestimate mosley, probably saw how mosley struggled with mayorga and thought he could steam roller sugar shane. I would love to see mayorga v margo at 154 now that I think about it.
Read James Slater's article in the front page of this site. It is even stupid to suggest Marg will be drained and have no 'pop' in his punches. If the fight was contracted at 147 people would not even blink - many where actually expecting it to be 147. As for the belt - who cares. WBC is too corrupt to say no - which they should have. Pac would have been forced to fight Cotto for his belt then not sure how that would work out money wi$e.
Margarito better kick little paquiaos ass . he can definitly do it but **** hes to damn slow i think thats the only reason they made this match besides the fact they knew margo would agree to anyhting for this opprotunity, that speed advantage pacman has over him is fkn ridiculous its scary
