    besides of de intentionally and criminally loosened ropes , de heat , and Foreman being intentionally dehydrated by his own trainer/s coming into the ring , Foreman also got counted out quick , but still made the count , but still got waived off . :think:think

    Nothing had 2 do with Ali winning the fight .
    Who pays for your posts again? are you a family relative of Ali's / Mirena's, or is Ali symbolizing something with (deep for you) religious / political implications?

    So after all of that here is my two...
    Ali was in waaayyy better shape than Foreman yet didnt hold a tune to the POWER that Foreman had. His camp as well as he knew both that these two things were true. However no matter whatever the money that was thrown up at the time had anything to do with it , I think Ali had a repertoire with the Nation of Africa and that the heat of pride rock could be tolerated by him better than George. I'm not sure that this is fact but I heard and saw several times that DUNDEE was present during the ring being setup and told whoever was doing the setup to leave the ropes loose which leads me to believe that the Rope A DOPE was an anticipated strategy. Which IMO was a brilliant strategy by the Ali camp and with a perfect guy to implement such a plan but Ali. The padding in the ring will make a boxer feel like he is fighting on a beach which if anyone has ever done any kind of cardiovascular work on sand will most definitely spend all energy reserves in the legs. I do see Foreman winning in the Astrodome though. I think that the illusion of Zaire having the ability to put up the most amount of money is a complete fabrication orchestrated by the great illusionist with crazy hair. Ali only beats Foreman in these specific conditions,STOP kidding yourselves and critically think and overthink a little bit.
    This is just my opinion and I respect everyone who posts their passionate love for this great sport.

    George was champion, Ali should have fought him in the Astrodome. I admit I don't know the details of the negotiations, but having Ali fight in Africa sure didn't enhance the misguided reputation that George didn't represent black folks and Muhammad was a virtual 'cult of personality God' and George nothing more than a lamb being set up for slaughter when they stepped into the ring.

    You guys are really making things up as you go! None of what you are dreaming up is true. Watch the fight....in round one Ali is trying to move and pot shot George and by the last minute of the rounds it is he that's exhausted and George s getting to him. Round 2 starts and Ali completely changes his strategy. He decided between round one and two that he could not continue fighting the way he was....he was moving three steps to Foremans one (Alis own words) and he knew he was exhausting himself (Alis own words). The change in strategy was the only one he could use...don't move as much, stand his ground, pot shot George as he comes in and try to last to the middle rounds. It worked....foreman was a beaten up exhausted mess sitting in his corner after round 7. Ali found George off balance and wide open at the end of round eight and knocked him out.

    Ali was bigger than the title though, even though a ex champ, Ali's men still had a lot of power were to set up the fight.

    Foreman was in great shape, he was running miles, that is why the rope a dope strategy came in. Ali could not out dance foreman because foreman trainer had him running miles and miles everyday.

    This is most likely true, Dundee must have loosend the ropes even the announcer though they were going to fall out the ring. Normally getting a guy on the ropes is an ADVANTAGE but when the ropes lean 2-3 feet back it is a disadvantage. I would be inclined to think Foreman could have beaten Ali but then again Foreman lost to Jimmy Young not too long afterwards (a far inferiror fighter with a highly similar style). And YOUNG ALMOST KNOCKED FOREMAN OUT too. Foreman cannot beat a good mover with a decent chin.
