The Charr Oquendo fight is scheduled to late in the year for Whyte to fight him this year. As is the suggested Miller fight. I'd be surprised to see Whyte fight outside of Brezeale, Chisora and Ortiz.
That would be a good fight! Breazeale would give whyte hell I reckon. whyte will get another shot at AJ after povetkin though so I doubt he’ll risk a loss against Breazeale
Brezeale doesn't have the Parker and Browne wins on his resume. But the wins over Izu and Mansour shouldn't be taken lightly. The bodybuilder Joshua was the only one to beat him. I see Brezeale as a Rahman type heavyweight on a good fight night. He's got the tools, and certainly capable of making some upsets, against some top contenders.
Whyte would beat Breazeale easily and I don't even like Whyte. Breazeale is slow and easy to hit, but is durable and would take Whyte the distance.
The politics around the WBC and Wilder seem bizarre ! He seems to be able to choose who he fights ? Whyte does deserve to be a mandatory. For me whilst Heavyweight boxing generates lots of interest very few have much skill and it’s sometimes a lottery of who wins . Whyte and Breazeale if it happens is just such a bout 2 big basic lumps both with a punchers chance against each other.I doubt if it would generate a PPV event and that makes it even less lightly to happen .
I’d fancy Whyte to beat him and I tend to pick against him... Other than WBCmandatory soot (which won’t be guaranteed anyway knowing the WBC) it’s a pointless fight. Chisora rematch is most interesting, though I think Whyte beats him this time. Chisora won the first for me but despite the Takam win I don’t think he’s the fighter he once was, he was losing until the KO.
The Chisora option is the obvious one but I don’t think the WBA regular does much for him. Joshua would still be the super champ so it’d be a hard sell as a unification. We’ve seen Whyte can get the paydays without a belt and he’s guaranteed a future rematch against Joshua whenever Hearn pleases. The way for Whyte to go is either Chisora in December and Joshua in April or chase down Ortiz/Breazeale and force Wilder’s hand. Become mandatory (even though he should be already).
Chisora was losing the battle but winning the war. He pretty much rope-a-doped Takam, happy to give away the first half of the fight with the intention of taking over. It was an intelligent performance.
He should be mandatory because he’s been number 1 with WBC for a year and silver belt holder. Ortiz coming back off a drug ban and Breazeale (I’ve got no explanation for whatsoever and despite being ranked 3) have somehow leapfrogged him. Regardless of promoters or how well he beat x,y,z that’s not right. The WBC are a disgrace.
Absolutely bang on Scissors. Unforgiven, You can't slag off the manner of Whyte's victory and use that as a rod to beat him down the rankings. He was number 1 and then faced Parker, if anything that should have solidified his claim for a shot against wilder but instead we get this final mandatory BS against Ortiz who has done nothing to justify it in the last 2 years. Now Breazele has somehow wormed his way into a mandatory position who, coincidentally, is a North American fighter
got to say, whyte has done very well recently and has been exciting to watch as well. i wasnt a fan but im warming to him, still think he doesnt train nearly hard enough but he leaves it all in the ring every time. breazeale seems a nice enough chap really but lets be honest hes absolute garbage, whyte will put him away easily.
I was exactly the same on Whyte. Couldn’t take to him for a long time but he’s winning me over now. He isn’t technically great but he’s a solid big lump with a really good jab to be fair. He gives it absolutely everything and as we saw against Parker he will do anything he can to win even if that means cheating at times, or being savvy whatever way you look at it. Although I feel both Chisora and Parker (can see a fight between them two being sorted btw) are deserving of a rematch, Whyte has done more than enough to earn a crack at the big one.

Why has Miller not called out, to my knowledge at least, Wilder? Miller is from Brooklyn, Wilder fights at The Barclays Centre, both are out spoken Americans, seems a natural fit. Would be fun to see if the right hand could knock over 300 lbs. Sorry if I've taken it off topic. Just thought I would expand the thread.
