I thought Povetkin is kind of discredited anyway, seeing as Wlad handled him like a rag doll. If Wilder can beat Povetkin he deserves respect, and should be ranked in top 3. But Povetkin is nowhere near Fury and Wlad.

I know he's the real deal, problem is, just like all the great fighters every time they beat who they're "ducking" there's automatically a new boogie man. Wilder and Joshua had already answered my questions. They are far and away the 2 best hw's. Does that mean they'll beat everyone easily or even stay undefeated, no. But they are the only true competitive hw's for each other. The ****** wrenches are haye (230 lbs haye) without caring if he loses and ortiz. Povetkin couldn't EVER hang with them, I'm sure a couple other monkeys will emerge but for right now joshua then Wilder then there's a huge gap. But they're hw'since so anything can really happen, flukes happen. Ask the great LL. I think joshua might be the best hw I've ever seen
If a cow flies, will you call it a bird? Of course everyone will give Wilder credit if he beats Povetkin. Most just don't give him a chance to do so now. And rightfully so. There are no indications as to why Wilder should be able to beat Povetkin - so he will be a clear underdog.
Hmmm this povitkin must be a different bloke to one who struggled to beat Huck the easy to hit face frist cruiser weight who has recently been Knocked out by another cruiser weight. Yes, he is. He hired Kostya Tzyu and completely revamped his training. Wilder, however, is still esentially the same guy who was dropped by Harold Scoiners, a career loser.
Ancient history. The reason most pick Povetkin is he's looked good in his last 4 fights (Charr, Takam, Perez, Wach). Wilder is stylistically a very difficult fight for Povetkin. However Povetkin's chin and determination are exceptional, and Wilder has not demonstrated the capacity for the disciplined boxing (basically on the backfoot) that he'll need to evade Povetkin for 12 rounds. Wilder fought well on the backfoot against Stiverne. However, Povetkin is arguably on another level. Notably his handspeed and well-honed instincts when he gets inside are problems for Wilder. Povetkin undoubtedly possesses the power to bother Wilder as was evidenced when he hurt Wach and KOed Takam and Perez. Wilder can't clinch his way to victory either. Even if Wilder learned Wlad's clinching techniques (which would require years of training), he wouldn't be able to apply as much pressure in a clinch because he weighs 20 lbs less than Klitschko. Povetkin might be able to break Wilder down with some well-placed body shots.
