I'm a big Wilder critic. I'll give him massive credit if he beat Povetkin. I don't think the fight happens, ever.

Am a critic of wilder too, more his team tbh as he does not make the fights am sure he would fight whoever, would give him credit for a povetkin win, but again wilder 6'7 povetkin about 6'2-3. I believe wilder would win this one on points be a similar performance to when he won the WBC title.

Wilder has the WBC execs paid off.
He does not have to fight anyone, for as long as there is money coming in and he is sharing it with the WBC execs.
He will probably continue fighting nobodies for another 5 years and avoiding the elite in the division.

Wilder is stylistically a very difficult fight for Povetkin. However Povetkin's chin and determination are exceptional, and Wilder has not demonstrated the capacity for the disciplined boxing (basically on the backfoot) that he'll need to evade Povetkin for 12 rounds. Wilder fought well on the backfoot against Stiverne. However, Povetkin is arguably on another level. Notably his handspeed and well-honed instincts when he gets inside are problems for Wilder. Povetkin undoubtedly possesses the power to bother Wilder as was evidenced when he hurt Wach and KOed Takam and Perez.

Wilder can't clinch his way to victory either. Even if Wilder learned Wlad's clinching techniques (which would require years of training), he wouldn't be able to apply as much pressure in a clinch because he weighs 20 lbs less than Klitschko. Povetkin might be able to break Wilder down with some well-placed body shots.

Char 'wach etc are no preparation for Wilder .Wilder is flawed but is all wrong for pov .Wilder will win by KO mid rnds.

Of course. The issue with Wilder is that he is supposedly a champion of some sort and has never faced a legitimate top ten guy.

If he knocked out Povetkin, he would get all the respect in the world.

The problem for him is, Povetkin is going to knock him out and he knows is. He is manifestly garbage with his clumsy punches, lack of defense, overrated power and less than world class chin. His team know it, which is why he only fights cripples.
