Imo he never really established himself as a Jr.MW and catapulted into the WBC as their champ thanks to his promoter. That has now put him into a put up or shut up situation with his next opponent Rhodes. Rhodes is a tough seasoned Jr.MW. And I hate how they managed Canelo, they now have places him in a spot that might cause him his first loss. His last opponents were not the fighters that would have prepared him for the top jr.mw's that he will be facing or should be facing as the champ. And I fear that what happened to Berto with Ortiz will happen to Canelo. I'm just going to hope for the best, and btw its ****ed up what they have done to El Perro, had they not ****ed with his career he would be a belt holder by now.

Not a Chance.... Good chin, good defense when he wants to use it... opening up for a Hatton to create opportunities should not be seen as his MO when it comes to his defense... watch other fights and you will see. Good boxing skills....

    Canelo is the Future.

does he really have a good chin? I havent seen an awful lot of him but when I have seen him hes been in with non punchers and a couple of them have bothered him. Cotto had him going early and Baldomir stiffened his legs a couple times without really troubling him

What I don't like that he does is when he throws a combo that the first 2 punches are blocked but the last two land hard he will relax put his guard down and move back. A game fighter who isn't bothered by hard punches like angulo is just going to eat those shots and let his hands go soon after and possibly hurt Canelo.

For what it's worth Berto fought his ass off in the Ortiz fight...
So IF Alvarez get's his ass whooped I hope he goes out like Berto.
(Tho I don't see it happening anytime soon, People might need to get used to "Canelo" for a while)

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan, but I think it was a bad management. And I also belive Angulo whoops him right now, Canelo still needs improvements.

For me this is a great fight if he wants to go further. Yes its dangerous as I have watched a lot of rhodes and he is a very skilled boxer. But IMO if he is as good as people think he should take this one. Rhodes is not world class but is almost there. I expect saul to win but what's great about this fight is that I also see him being tested by rhodes awkward stye. IMO a great fight for the fans.

Yes. Make or break, and the funny thing is many have no clue who rhodes is... I already hear the ppl "ah cabron! Es bueno" translation " holy ****! Hes good!" ppl expecting canelo to blow this "unknown"out but its going to be a tru test.

Rhodes has a chance, if he fights at his best there should be enough there to unsettle Canello. Could be an upset.

    My thoughts Exactly.

People think he is just fighting some bum, but you need to watch him at his best (which IMO has been his more recent fights) to see what Alvarez could be potentially facing.

Rhodes has skills. He even busts out a the shoulder roll at times. I do expect Alvarez to win but its not going to be easy for him...... if Rhodes comes in at his best.

there is a possibility he will get KTFO. Hatton gave him hell as I knew he would. Rhodes could hurt him bad.

well hatton was able to land some good shots on canelo, I think ifhe doesnt improve his defense he will get brutally ko'd eventually, it shows that he should never be a beltholder at this point, I think he has great potential though, rhodes fight is a very good step up in competition I didnt expect that. I think alvarez will win this one, im worried about him though.
