Yes, he would take a margarito beating but it would be overquicker and it would retire him.

How old are you? Just curious?

Do you think that's how fights are made? Calling someone out on TV impresses keyboard warriors. He needs to call out his promoter and say, "Make Cotto an offer, he's the man I want. Make it happen."

If they don't make a reasonable offer to Cotto, there's no ducking to be done.

Now if reports are to believed, Chavez Jr.'s promoter HAS made an offer to Cotto. You can't duck a rock that isn't thrown, and words are just words.

Erm, K2 - is in fact trying to negotiate a fight. They have said they are happy being the B side, and would even be the C side to get the fight.

Why would Cotto go out of his way to fight him? He's at the tail-end of his career and probably looking to make as much money he can, as easily as he can. At this stage, a fight with Golovkin looks to be anything but that.

I think Cotto will go for Alvarez, where we can get big money and fight a guy he'd be confident in beating, while Golovkin will continue to battle away against non-descript veterans like Sam Soliman, et al.

Remember Cotto wasn't top rated welter. he was rated below pac man,Marquez, bradley. In fact a lot of scribes were considering him washed up. I DONT SEE HIM AS A MAJOR FORCE IN THE MIDDLEWEIGHTS FOR LONG.

    1) Cotto already beat 'The Man' in Martinez @ 160 - Fact.

    2) He has a ton of money to be made if he faces Canelo next.

    No ducking at all, IMO.

Cotto ducks no one, if he chooses to fight Alvarez, that would also be a top level opponent.

If Golovkin becomes a bigger draw and/or shows a weakness that Cotto believes he can capitalise on then yeah, he'll fight him. Will that happen in the next two years? No, I don't think so and as a result no, Cotto won't fight him ever.

Cotto doesn't duck fighters but he made the same mistake that Broner made. He over looked the elephant in the room.

What does that even mean? Cotto took on the man at 160 and beat him decisively. It's not even given that he's going to campaign at 160 the rest of his career. Realistically, he only is looking for Canelo and the Mayweather rematch before hanging it up. Fighting GGG is not necessary at this stage of his career.

You know what that means. Everybody knows who the champ was but everybody also knows who the real monster man at 160 is and it wasn't Sergio's ***** ass. He was prime for the picking and Cotto picked him and picked him apart. Now, that he's done that, people will clamor for and demand that he fight GGG which would be his undoing because to be honest, Trip G will tear his ass up. He's trapped and Canelo is not coming to 160 so he either give up the belt ( which will be seen as a ***** move) or take that ass whooping just like Broner. People don't care what his plans are. All they know is that he is the champ and they wanna see him defend against that elephant in the room.

Yes, Cotto will never get in the ring with GGG. Roach will not allow it. One can only hope Canelo beats him cause Canelo will fight anyone, anywhere.
