Simple question will Khan take on the hard hitting Marcos Maidana next. According to the WBA Amir has 90 days to take on the Argentinian or he will be stripped. Will Amir dodge the Argentinian and vacate, is their truth to the rumours that Maidana will be taking on Devon Alexander on HBO some time early in 2010.

Probably not, i would think he'd like to make a good impression to the US audience, big chance Maidana could KO him, somebody like Malignaggi is a safer bet.

I'll be impressed if and when Amir Khan beats a big puncher like Marcos Maidana.

I think we'd all like to see it but it doesn't seem likely.

I'm sure he can make more money fighting more well-known fighters who pose less/as much of a risk.

Beating a puncher like Maidana would be very impressive though - especially if he could do it in America where Maidana has a nice reputation coming off the Ortiz ko.

THis is a fight HBO would show IMO, especially with Maidana's links with GBP and Khan being one of the young 140lb'ers they're supposedly interested in (Devon Alexander and Victor Ortiz being the others).

Khan could outbox him and Maidana's chin isn't solid as well (Ortiz had him hurt) BUT as we know Maidana, especially against Khan of all fighters, has that big punch that could end the fight at any time. It'd need to be an extremely discplined performance from Amir to pull off the win but certainly not impossible.

Will the fight happen? I think yes. Khan's not one to duck a challenge and he'll wank to prove he can beat a big puncher after the Prescott debacle and Maidana and his people will think this is a highly winnable and lucrative fight for them against a chinny fighter.

Doubt it. Massive risk, and nowhere near enough reward, in terms of the general public.
