Cotto has a great jab and I highly doubt Winky has the power to earn Margarito's respect. I know he is bigger than Cotto but I still dont see him hurting Margarito and keeping him at bay with that jab.
Taylor is more defensive minded than Margarito. Also doesnt have the work rate that Margarito has. He has that upper body movement that wastes his energy. Maybe he was some what tired when he went back against the ropes.
How will he get tired when he's faced guys with more power who hit him in the arms and he still kept his guard up but a lighter puncher in Margo will?:huh
First off Cotto DOES NOT have anything close to a GREAT jab. Secondly I don't remember seeing him throw the jab in that fight all that much anyway. And Winky might not hurt Margarito but he will be pushed back by Winky's jab and straight lefts. And just cause you cant hurt a fighter doesn't mean you can't beat them.
Maybe not at first but as the rounds go on it will ask Tito when Winky's jabs towards the end of the fight had Tito all over the place. Winky punches harder than Cotto let's put that to rest right now.
ATG at 154 in 2004. What makes you think at age 37 and having his last fight at 170 a year and a half ago he could just easily drop down to 154 and be the same fighter? Fighters go up in weight as they get older, not down. Just ask Chris Byrd how that worked out for him. I think Wink still has enough left in the tank to get it done against Margo at 160, after a tune-up fight, but there's a reason why he stopped fighting at 154 years ago. And Margarito is not a B fighter.
I think just the volume itself would wear Winky out. Has Winky faced a volume puncher like Margarito before? Also Margarito has power. I know Winky has faced fighters with more power but they didnt have Margarito's style which is punches in bunches. He makes you work every minute of every round.
It's not a great jab. Holmes had a great jab, Winky has a great jab, Dzindurik has a great jab, Lewis had a great jab, Wlad has a great jab, Kessler has a great jab ect. Cotto has a good jab not GREAT and nothing even close to Winky's.
Winky punches harder than Cotto? :think I honestly dont know that one. Maybe he does but Cintron hits harder than Cotto and Margarito still didnt feel those punches.
WOW! I think he has one of the best jabs in boxing. Shane gave him a lot of respect because of that jab. He has even floor bums with that jab. :huh
