I am sure they dont fight exactly the same. I mean Margarito had a belt for five years. I am sure they had slightly different styles.
Maybe you should take in the knowledge I'm giving you instead of being blind towards Margarito. Have you ever seen Calderon fight before??? The man wins fights on his jab alone. Marquez??? He's not one of the most skilled fighters in the world because he doesn't have a jab. Malignaggi I know everyone hates his but he has a great lightning quick jab. I hate Mijares but the guy has a great jab.

As for a few names, Navarro doesn't belong on there, Pensalosa, YoPaulie, certainly don't have as good a jab as Cotto. I WOULD say Simms but I get him and his brother mixed up constantly and wouldn't want to incriminate the wrong one. It's his parents fault for being so damn stupid with the name game. Emmanuel Steward has said on a number of occasions that Cotto's jab is one of the best in boxing. Even referring to it at times as a thunderous sledgehammer jab similar to Wlad's jab. If you were a lil more reserved you'd see that I agreed that Winky has a much better jab...but you're essentially going out of your way to denegrate Cotto's which is really good.
I never said they had the same style I just said he threw ALOT of punches. Simon retired undefeated and was a very feared fighter when he was still active. You should try and see some of his fights he was a pleasure to watch.
Perhaps maybe that's the difference in the argument. You seem to be favoring towards quicker jabs where as Cotto's is more of a thudding slower sort of jab. It might just be a difference in preference really.

Cotto has a sledge hammer jab that snaps you head back. JMM doesnt have that kind of jab neither does Paulie.
If you are taking what Emmanuel Steward says as gospel then that's your biggest problem. The man is a complete boob. And yes Cotto does have a GOOD jab but to call it anything close to great is an insult to guys like Winky and Wlad.

The Zab Judah fight? That's where Emmanuel Steward first made his comment about the sledgehammer style jab. Also the Quintana fight was the first fight where he showed signs of having one. It's not something he's ALWAYS HAD...but rather something he developed as a fighter.
\ I wouldn't trust Emmanuel Steward with the weather..but the guy knows fighters who have a good jab. Wlad became a jabbing machine under Stewards watchful eye..so Manny knows something about guys with great jabs. For him to say Cotto has a great thundering jab to me says something.
