If it wasnt for Canelos gingerness making him a star and big deal with the ladies(just like Joshua), Canelo would have never: 1. gotten the Mayweather Mosely and Cotto fights to begin with 2. Gotten away with steroids 3. Gotten the trout and Lara GIFT decisions(especially Lara) 4. Gotten the Cotto fight, instead Cotto could fight vs Mayweather again for middleweight belt after knocking out geale 4b.Got the Cotto decision, if Canelo wasn't a star Cotto could have just had him robbed instead Canelo got outrageous scorecards in his favor despite it being a 7-5 fight(which is an embarassment itself to barely beat the guy when you're 10 years younger 15lbs heavier in the ring and juiced.) 5. Been allowed the Khan cherry pick 6. Refuse testing to make weight for smith 7. Been able to drain Chavez jr into oblivion 8.been able to make GG wait for so long 9. Gotten GGG GIFT decision 90% of his career and fame was earned outside the ring. Fact.
I agree. Cant stand the ginger cheat and his corruption happy promoter and the NSAC who have backed their ways for years now. But if Canelo was under a different promoter, coaching team his career would of taken a quite different path, hed still be fighting at 147 or 154 and hed still be a star and still be in everybodys P4P lists. He is a very talented fighter, the cream always rises to the top and so would Canelo.

Lot of politics in the sport. Most if not all of what the thread starter said is true of Canelo. He's talented, but there are guys who are more talented who didn't get the path to success greased for them, who had to slog their way uphill on rollerskates.
Yeah for about 30 seconds every round. Sure i wont deny that he looks brilliant in flurries. But. **** poor stamina. Average power enhanced only by a huge natural size advantage over a number of opponents, suspect chin with kirkland and khan and serious PED abuse that is far more flagrant and pbvious than with other fighters. I love watching him fight despite all of my criticisms. He has a very entertaining style because of his explosiveness and sharpness. But he cant keep it up for an entire round and his power isnt as hard as it looks.
