    would Leonard have had the confidence along with the heart to pull off what he did against Hearns?

    I think you can't credit the whole nature of the man on Duran.

    Leonard was born a fighter, he was always gonna have the
    warrior mentality - with or without Duran.

    Leonard always had a high opinion of himself and fighting Duran didn't change that. He had the right to be cocky, in his prime he was incredible.
