I certainly would never doubt his affectiveness. He's a very good fighter.

It isn't going to win "fight of the year", but it was a very interesting fight to watch, IMO. Thompson made it competitive for a bit, Klitschko overcame his style, and knocked him out. Can't ask for much more than that. Thompson is a hard guy to look good against, and be effective against. He is being underrated, and that is what leads to all of this.

ahaha. clearly, his style is one of caution. he understands his limitations and fights accordingly...i dont see anything wrong with. he does have 5kos in his last 6 fights, but i can understand watching his fights for a neutral fan can be uninspiring. he's doesn't have the animal mentality of a Tyson or his brother Vitali, instead he is a technician who happens to have ko power in both hands.

I must say i was impressed with Tony's chin and Winky high-guard defense. Wasn't impressed with his handspeeed though

Who do you think can give Wlad a tough fight?

I think that "interesting to watch" is fair. It was compelling viewing. But I do "ask for much more than that".

yeah and also keep in mind, wlad's last 2 opponents have been awkward southpaws. Povetkin is very conventional and asking to be hit.

    :yep

I've explained why I think he's boring. You've failed to engage with any of my ponts and answer "there is nothing u can say", so this is a waste of my time.

    No.

Did you find tonight's fight exciting (For the second time)?

Perhaps recently watching Moore-Durelle has made for some unrealistic expectations on my part, but the fight was boring.

Wlad did what he had to do, and is a talented fighter, but...

His fights usually leave something to be desired.

people just dont like his style from the opening bell up until the ko. He is a very cautious and calculating boxer. He doesn't fight on instinct all that much and people want to see fireworks....just the way it is. i can understand that but not the childish hate

i thought they came in with a bad gameplan for thompson

He most certainly is, and for good reason. We all have seen him implode, panic, excessively clinch, and fall numerous times after taking good flush shots from good punching Heavys before, the man doesnt have that toughness guys like Holyfield and Ali had, to prevail when the going got tough and fight back when hurt, I really do believe thats why most people dislike Wlad, and wont ever consider him a true Heavyweight great.

Did I say boring? That was someone else.

I find it exciting to watch a 6'6 behemoth panic and hug his opponent like he's a little girl.
